employment & career readiness

In addition to the transition and support resources provided for your benefit at your local installation level, the AFW2 Program has your Employment, Education, and Entrepreneurial objectives in mind as well.  We have a team on staff standing by to assist you in the development of realistic goals, objectives, and plans. In addition, we can advocate for you and connect you to resources and people who can be of assistance. We are part of your Case Management Team and seek to engage at the right time and place to assure your success.

In collaboration with your Recovery Care Coordinator, Non-Medical Care Manager, and your leadership, we will work to help you define “success” for your transition.  Then, we will help you in every way possible to see your plan come to fruition.  Some of the more common things we do to assist; resume review and development, networking advice, occupational relocation information, skills assessment guidance (O*net Online), accountability, education on Schedule A and other hiring authorities you may be eligible for, and job search assistance, just to name a few.  Sometimes we just listen to help you refine and hone your thinking into an actualized, achievable plan of action!

Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation”- Zig Ziglar

Let us help you succeed!  Contact us directly at AFW2.DPFWS.Employment@US.AF.MIL to learn more.  If you are already enrolled in AFW2 and want to stay abreast with what is happening from afar, make sure you request access to our closed Facebook Page “AFW2 Employment and Career Readiness” at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1677243602548198/.  We regularly post great information at the page related to upcoming events, employment opportunities, career/job fairs, and other helpful resources.

We look forward to hearing from you and working with you!
