Colonel RICHARD L. OBERT

Colonel Richard Obert is the Director of the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program (AFW2), Randolph Air Base, Texas. As Director he leads a diverse team that supports approximately 11,000 Airman and provides well-coordinated and personalized support to WII Airmen, their caregivers, and families.
Colonel Obert was born in Biloxi Mississippi and raised in Ft. Worth Texas. After completing his undergraduate degree at Southern Methodist University, he received his commission through the Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, He is a senior navigator with more than 2200 flying hours, including 496 combat hours in Iraq and Afghanistan, in the MC-130E and MC-130H.
