A 2016 article in Psychology Today entitled Connectedness: Are We Really Separate Individuals? addresses different kinds of connectedness, including the “empathic connection” of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes. When someone we know is in pain we “feel” that pain. When they are sad, we feel their sadness. This often pushes us to altruistic acts to help alleviate their suffering. While the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program cannot be at every person’s house, we do try to alleviate suffering by providing positive outlets through social media and direct connections with our wounded warriors. Here are a list of events meant to connect wounded warriors and other audience members, giving you a place to converse while learning something new.

Tuesday – October 20 - 11:00 a.m. CDT - Ambassador Testimony with Maj. Marie Perkins

Wednesday – October 21 - 11:00 a.m. CDT – A Story of Trading Places featuring Glenda & Joshua Leary

Thursday – October 22 - 2:00 p.m. CDT – Woodworking with Maj. Mark Birdwell

Friday – October 23 - 2:00 p.m. CDT – Challenge Aspen Military Opportunities hosted by Community Programs
