TSA ease airport screening for wounded warriors Published July 10, 2012 WASHINGTON -- Transportation Security Administration officials hope to ease the screening process of injured and wounded service members. TSA officials have established the Wounded Warrior/Military Severely Injured Joint Support Operations Center Program supporting and facilitating the movement of severely injured service members and veterans through the security screening process at U.S. airports. This service is available around the clock. Once flight arrangements are made with the airline, the severely injured service member, or family member, or other representative can contact the TSA Operations Centers at anytime with details of the itinerary. Contact can be made by calling 888-262-2396, or using the preferred method of sending email to MSIJSOC@dhs.gov to protect the accuracy of flight information and other details. The center staff will acknowledge the request by email reply or via telephone Operations center staff will then notify the federal security directors or designated representatives at the airports on the itinerary. Federal security directors are responsible for ensuring necessary security screenings are conducted with empathy and respect, in order to make the overall experience for the wounded warrior as simple and trouble-free as possible.
