February’s Airman magazine issue now available

The February issue of Airman magazine is now available to download and is viewable through a Web browser.

In this issue, the magazine staff travels to Alaska to spend nearly a week at the Arctic Survival School and learn how the instructors train service members to survive in extreme cold climates. Students learn it takes every bit of mental strength, along with some creativity and perseverance to survive Mother Nature's wrath.

Staff members also flew to Spain to feature several U.S. Air Force Academy cadets who are spending a semester at the Spanish air force academy. While there, the cadets aren't just becoming fluent in Spanish and learning more about the country's culture, but they're sharing their own with fellow Spanish cadets, as well.

Rounding out this issue, is an inspiring story of an Airman overcoming breast cancer after having double mastectomy surgery. Her strong support from her family helped her through her ordeal, but everyone can learn a lesson from her strength.
