VA offers airborne hazard, open burn pit registry Published June 26, 2014 WASHINGTON -- Veterans Affairs has established an Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry allowing eligible veterans and service members an opportunity to document their exposures and report health concerns through an online questionnaire. Eligible participants include those who served in: Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Daw Djibouti, Africa, on or after Sept. 11, 2001 Operations Desert Shield or Desert Storm Southwest Asia theater of operations on or after Aug. 2, 1990 VA officials state it takes about 40 minutes to complete the questionnaire. People can complete it in one sitting, or save it and return later. After completing the questionnaire, people may request a free, optional medical evaluation. People will need a Premium DS Logon Level 2 account to sign up. If they don't already have an account, they can register for a DS Logon at registry site.
