Family care forum kick starts Year of the Air Force Family

Annette Slaydon and her husband, Tech. Sgt. Matt Slaydon, speak to the audience and senior leadership panel during the Year of the Air Force Family: Caring for People Forum April 2 in Arlington, Va. The Slaydons spoke about the importance of deployment preparation, wounded warrior care and the importance of the Air Force family. Sergeant Slaydon is an explosive ordnance technician from Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., who received extensive injuries from a terrorist's improvised explosive device in 2007 while deployed to northern Iraq.
